If you truly think an unborn baby is not a person until birth, you should check out this web site MedicineNet[dot]com and see the ultra sound pictures and medical description of the stages of pregnancy. Proof it is more than a privacy issue there is a third human being without a voice involved. If you do not want a child either just say no or use birth control, it is available in any local drug store. In addition, in the case of rape there is the morning after pill, which prevents conception. It takes about 24 hours for conception to take pace.

The truth is babies are not created "in the Central London Hatching and Conditioning Centre" to quote "The Brave New World" by Aldous Huxley. After conception, babies are alive and develop in the mother’s womb until birth.

Here is a fact to those who believe an unborn child is just a nothing until it is actually, delivered. If your mother chose abortion, you would not be alive today.

"angry...No other state has proposed such extreme measures."

Then apparently this was incorrect?

"The Guttmacher Institute, which tracks abortion laws throughout the country, says Pennsylvania, Arizona and Oklahoma already have such laws."

There is a story in the Bible about two women arguing over who gets to keep a baby that was found in the reeds. The birth Mother could not keep the baby and abandoned it. The baby was found alive by another woman who could not have babies and she wanted the baby as her own. Then in remorse the birth Mother returned and also wanted the baby, the argument ensued. To resolve the argument God said he would cut the baby in half and give each woman a half. The birth Mother in all her grief decided to let the other woman have the baby so it would not be cut in half. God then gave the baby to the birth Mother because she had proved she had the greatest love for the baby by agreeing to let the other woman have the baby so it could live. I told this story from memory so I'm probably in error somewhere.

Abortion has to be the toughest decision our lawmakers have to make. They are deciding life or death for the unborn, I don't know how anybody can choose death.

Sadistic? Maybe, but for whom? The parent? Sorry, no sympathy.

A pointless and a poorly-conceived waste of time? Yooobetchya. I'd love to see how this law works out in the states that have already adopted it.

I, too, am against killing, and especially those who can't speak for themselves. One Senator brought a similar argument to the floor today. Wondered how we would read someone's mind? with hypnosis, ESP, torture? Roe v Wade included a couple of VERY important and all but forgotten ideas. One, the importance of protecting life by states, and the importance of the advancement of knowledge. That is really an abridged version. And finally, another Senator brought up the fact that discrimination because of sex or disability is illegal. Who are we to deny the love of life from anyone?

So what would stop someone from saying they just don't want to have a baby? This law makes very little sense. Don't get me wrong, I personally don't agree with abortion but how do you police reasons?

I love life! But I would never tell you what to do with yours. That would be pretentious.
