Health care law should be repealed

March 1, 2013

Calls for repeal of “Obamacare,” the president’s national health care takeover, seemed to fade away after President Barack Obama was re-elected last November....

What? Are you crazy? Health insurance companies want a pool of insured that are forced to buy health insurance. They'll make billions more.

Obamacare is about billionaires staying billionaires and not about you or your health.

It is not even for the children, it is all about health insurance corporations making the most they can off of 300 million suckers.

One unintended consequence of Obamacare is corporations are now considering not offering health insurance to employees and just paying the fine. The bottom line rules.

Too many straws on the health insurance camel's back.

Obamacare actually begins fullforce in 2014. Hmm. Health care companies have increased premiums for the past four years and the healthcare had very little of it in force. United health care made Billions in profit last year as did Aetna. It is kinda like the oil companies controlling the oil prices and thus their profits. The Health care companies are doing the same. I wonder what the public option would have done to level this. Usage of the health care facilities have dropped dramatically but health care premiums have increased as have their profits? It looks like an opportunity for health care companies to raise premiums and profits with a scapegoat.

In my opinion the biggest failure of the ACA is that it didn't adress costs at all, only who pays them.

The recent article in Time magazine sheds some good light on the billing structure of the system as it stands today. Regardless of how we end up paying the bill, and we all pay in one way or another with or without "Obamacare", we all suffer when the costs grow the way they have.

centerfield, several provisions of ACA have been implemented already, prior to its full implementation in 2014.

Heisenberg referenced the Time Mag. article, there's quite a bit of buzz surrounding it. It's the largest single Time article ever (26,000 words). One major conclusion it makes is that Doctors are paid too much. Eh, yeah. (this is where the right chimes in with "class warfare") I believe the health care industry needs a haircut.

I gotta get around to reading the Time article, but that's a lot of words - maybe there are some pictures too - I hope the words aren't too big.

It’s hard to get a man to understand something when his salary depends upon his not understanding. – Upton Sinclair

Can't drive it home better than that. People don't get it. The 99 percent funnel everything to the 1 percent. Obamacare is part of that plan.

Everything follows the money and it leads right to Wall Street, from the local all the way to the federal. That's why there is no property tax relief.

The billionaires are not going to tolerate a haircut.

They want more and Obamacare is the way to more riches for the corporations.

The Time article is a very good, but heavy, read. To be fair, it's a bit one sided, and I'm sure the medical industry has their own side of the story and perspectives on cost. For someone like myself who has no background in that industry and how billing is determined or where the money actually goes, it was an eye opener.

I don't understand how anyone can agree with a comment like..."No more middle class. Obama has wiped that out." BDGI

What alternative universe is this person living in?

It's very interesting to see peoples' reaction to the obamacare questions while doing their tax returns this year. Since none of the posting "gurus" have mentions the income tax angle, they must be the ones who are recipiants of all the "free" stuff obama has promised while paying no income tax.

I'm paying $4,920.00 a year for Blue Cross, I know at the rate it is going up I will be without insurance before I can get medicaid. I don't know what to do about this.

Gosh, $400 a month is cheap, Bird. Maybe you could go with the Republican plan and just go away/die/or go to the ER and get service.

Further more I think buried somewhere in all the BS the real health plan is to take away the tax deduction we get from paying for our own ins. The only reason we get a tax deduction is because the government gives their people free ins.

OK lefty, for those who get their ins. as a benefit paid for by their employer which in this case is the government. It's no secret if you can land government jobs you get tons of benefits, more in benefits than wages sometimes to offset having to pay taxes on taxes.

Lefty, now you are talking about disabled Veterans, that is in this case more than well earned income is called unearned income where an employee has earned income. For the sake of God I hope the DAV's are not taxed, I think they gave and we received from them more than anyone should have to give. Some gave it all and some give more than all. My utmost Respect goes to our Veterans who were on the battlefields securing that same Respect from all the Nations of the Earth.

Salient point: billgrr is the only one introducing the topic of race into this article. Period.

Now he'll try the same ol' same ol' about how I support someone else's posts all the time...which I don't.

The health care law repealed? Things might have gone too far for that. It was approved in 2010, and many of its provisions have already been implemented.

Could a person hope? Sure. Why not?

Mr. Bill, who is "who" in your sentence above?

Next topic: shotgun vs. rifle

I think that is the point of Obamacare....to draw the entire population into the pool...instead of just the YOUNG,OLD and the SICK....the healthy taxpayers are paying for these 5 or 10 percent that are sucking up all the money in the system...so why shouldn't they be covered just in case they fall SICK?
