I love visiting the Pioneer Village at the NDSF. I agree with Mrs Galusha in saying that it would be nice to see that school house at the fair. Since so much of the Fairgrounds was flooded and restoration is slow for the Pioneer Village, it would be good to see the school house, restored and on display. Do we really need more rides and such? I think there is plenty of that already. It is getting to be all about the money out at the fair just like everywhere else.

Prior to June 2011, I would have been in aggreement. I love the historical buildings, articles, and being able to go 'back in time'. However, the horrendous event of June 22, 2011 changed Minot and my position forever. The flood destroyed and damaged so the articles at the site on the fair grounds. I realize that land is very costly right now. But, if anyone is really serious about preserving history and the property from the historical society, it is time to move to higher ground.

you are correct. the live stock barns go next. If the ND state Fair Board is allowed to build their event center it will be just south of the all seasons arena, where to live stock barns are and they will have to go. the barns will be gone and replaced with a EVENT CENTER and the pioneer Village will be replaced with a road to get to the event center, wake up Minot before its all gone.

WorriedAmerican
Fair board is concerned about growing revenue and making the ND State Fair more attractive to more younger fair goers that have the money to spend. What was past is past and it is time to expand the with more modern and bigger events!

Thats right worried History is past and their is no need to teach our young about their ancestors. After all they wanted freedom for all and the younger crowd wants to be hand fed and treated like the babies they are.
