Minot Family YMCA's preregistration for the new session of classes which begin the week of Jan. 5 is under way at the Y, 3515-16th St. SW. The registration deadline for the Small Time Hoops League is Jan. 6 and the league will begin Jan. 17.

People who want to attend free parenting education classes offered by Trinity Mental Health Services in Minot should preregister by calling 857-3622 or 857-3616. The classes will begin Jan. 6 and continue Tuesday evenings for 15 weeks at Trinity Health Center-Riverside. The classes are for parents who have children ages infants up to age 12. Each session will begin with a light supper at 5:30 p.m. and will conclude at 8 p.m.

The North Dakota Texas Hold'em Poker Championship Tournament, sponsored by the Minot State University Alumni Association: Continues today and Saturday, The Vegas Motel, Minot. The charity poker tournament raises money for MSU's scholarship fund and is expected to draw about 1,300 players from across the country and Canada. Call 839-3000 for more information.
