Mornin', folks. It's 5:42 a.m. and I'm about to hit the hay so I can wake up in time to make the two-hour trek to Cando to cover small-school hoops. We'll see how the back roads of ND treat out-of-state guys like fellow scribe Mike Kraft (the driver) and I. Hopefully the trip's akin to "Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventure" and not "Planes, Trains and Automobiles". I have a 946-mile trip back home to Coeur d'Alene, Idaho, on Sunday for Christmas so the less resistance from Mother Nature the better. On to the post-apocalypse links.... Around the West Region: The Bismarck Tribune featured Linton-HMB wrestler Brock Nagel....Century swept Mandan in a boys and girls West Region doubleheader and the Trib has the story here...The Dickinson Press had a hefty load of content today, starting with No. 4 Dickinson Trinity's boys basketball win over Heart River; Dickinson High's wrestling triumph against Mandan; Dickinson High picked up wins against Watford City in boys and girls hockey; The Press is down to No. 8 in its countdown of the top stories of 2012...The Williston Tribune previews the Trinity Christian girls basketball team here. Around the East Region: The Fargo Forum covered Fargo South's 60-57 edging of Fargo North in boys hoops, but it was North's girls who triumphed in the girls contest...The Grand Forks Herald staffed Grand Forks Red River's 5-1 boys hockey win over Grand Forks Central. NDSU: Jeff Kolpack of the Forum has a column on how the Bison men's basketball team supports the football team (above).
