- UND begins Big Sky Conference play tonight in Grand Forks - AP

Our best: My Class A notebook this week touches on the transfer of Dustin Adams, the former Minot offensive lineman who's now a redshirt at Orange Bowl-bound Northern Illinois. I also touch on Magi hoops, wrestling and emergence of former Bismarck and Williston State star Luke Martinez  at undefeated Wyoming (11-0)...Minot State beat writer Daniel Allar covered the Beaver women's 77-64 win over NAIA Midland...Class B boys writer Adam Lawson has his weekly notebook here and Class B girls writer Mike Kraft has his weekly notebook here.

Around the East Region: Grand Forks Herald prep sports reporter Greg DeVillers has his weekly notebook on how Win-E-Mac's success from football is carrying into hoops...the Herald also spotlights its top prep performers of the week....the Wahpeton Daily News staffed Fargo South's 68-63 boys basketballl win over Wahpeton.

NDSU: Bison beat writer Jeff Kolpack of the Fargo Forum writes on how NDSU learned from the FCS football dynasty of Appalachian State here...NDSU head football coach Craig Bohl thinks a sizable portion of the state will be in Frisco, Texas to watch the Bison play in the national title game here.

UND: Wayne Nelson of the Grand Forks Herald advances UND's Big Sky Conference basketball openers against Soutnern Utah this weekend. It's the men's and women's inaugural start in the conference. The Herald also has a UND SportsZone video, recapping the week and looking ahead to the next.
