The Minot Staples store in will be closing on Feb. 8.

A company official in Framingham, Mass., confirmed the closing and date of closure to the Minot Daily News on Tuesday.

“We continually evaluate our store performance to ensure we’re operating the business in the best way. As customers shift online, we are taking aggressive action to right-size our retail footprint. We are committed to providing great service and every product businesses need whether it’s in-store, online or through mobile,” Jocelyn Thomas, Staples public relations and social media specialist, said in an email.

“Our customers in this area can continue to shop with us online at Staples.com,” Thomas added.

Thomas said the Minot store opened Feb. 15, 1999.

The store is located at 10 28th Avenue SW. Construction on the store began in 1998, according to the Minot Daily News files.
