Campbell launches U.S. House campaign
Grafton farmer and businessman Tom Campbell has announced he is switching from North Dakota’s U.S. Senate race to the U.S. House race.
Campbell endorsed Congressman Kevin Cramer, R-N.D., in his bid against Sen. Heidi Heitkamp, D-N.D., Friday. He said he will enter the House race, bringing along early support from 45 North Dakota Republican leaders.
“Senator Heitkamp and her national liberal allies would like nothing more than a divisive Republican primary, but North Dakota deserves elected conservatives who will support President Trump’s agenda in both chambers of Congress,” Campbell said. “That’s why today I’m proud to endorse my friend Kevin Cramer in his bid to unseat Senator Heitkamp, and I will run to represent North Dakota in the U.S. House.”
