Wild weather blasts Minot

Kim Fundingsland/MDN A swift moving snow storm belted Minot Monday afternoon. The National Weather Service issued a Blizzard Warning for much of north central North Dakota at 3:02 p.m. Monday. Heavy snow and wind gusts of 50 miles per hour or more created white-out conditions. The blizzard warning was set to expire at 6:00 a.m. today. Visibility within the city of Minot was reduced so much that the Minot Police Department issued a “No Travel Advisory.” “You know how these spring storms can be,” said Rick Krolak, NWS in Bismarck. “You can expect to get these on and off into April.” Winds are expected to gust close to 50 mph today before beginning to diminish tonight.
